I don't blame the staff directly, but more the understaffed restaurant. Needless to say I left no tip and will not be returning. I went to pay and expressed my frustration and didn't get much of an apology. After another 15 min of waiting I got up to walk out and she finally caught me on my way to the door and said she took it to the wrong table. She said it would be right over, I sent my wife and now screaming children to the car while I payed the bill. Still no refills, we ate our food and enjoyed it (despite the frustration of all the waiting) after 30 min of waiting for the check I finally got up and had to hunt someone down. After another hour and no drink refills our food came out. In hopes that it was just a fluke we stuck it out. we were just about to walk out the waitress took our order. We were seated right away but that was the last we saw of an employee for nearly 30 min. The atmosphere was nice and fun for kids. My family and I were looking for a family friendly restaurant and heard this was the place. One lady who was served dead last told the waiter to take it away. After a good half hour of sitting at the table waiting to order you would think the waiter would get the orders right. First 4 or 5 were done eating by the time the last of us got served. Food did not come together or anywhere near it. Restaurant was busy but it took our server at least another 30 minutes to take our order. That is what happens when you have an idiot in charge and nothing planned. Then we got to wait a minimum of 30 minutes to be seated. Minutes later my Queen walked in and low and behold there was a sticker inches from this idiot's face with the reservation details. the manager yesterday this stupid woman kept repeating we do not take reservations. Even with that when I walked in after I explained the reservation was confirmed by. I knew my Queen had personally dropped by the evening before to confirm the reservation. Went to Black Bear with my Red Hat group of 13. We won't go back to this location and the one in Gresham again. We have been disappointed with this Black Bear before but we decided to give them another chance because we had a coupon. I love spinach but I removed them and it tasted better. It would help if they chopped the spinach instead of using whole leaves. These looked like they might have been made at a bakery and warmed up. The biscuits from the others were more like homemade. The biscuits were not the same as the biscuits we got at those locations. We have gone to the Madras and California locations many times and never been dissatisfied. The pancakes were not light a fluffy, but somewhat rubbery and tasteless. When it took several requests and finally walking up to the counter to request drink refills. There was no cream or jam on the table and when requested we were given 2. Not entirely their fault, they seemed to be understaffed.
